Are you constantly waiting on the other shoe to drop you know feeling that impending sense of doom and self doubt? Psst, that’s trauma. I know you might don’t think it's trauma, but it is. The truth is that nearly everyone has experienced some level of trauma in their lifetime.

What is Trauma?

Trauma is any deeply distressing or disturbing experience that overwhelms a person’s capacity to cope. Whether it’s moving to a new location, a car accident, abuse or neglect, the sudden death of a loved one, a violent criminal act, exposure to the violence of war, or a natural disaster trauma can be large, small, isolated or ongoing.

Healing and transformation is possible with guidance and support of trauma-informed yoga. It is a safe, supportive space in which students can learn emotional regulation skills through connection with the breath and increased body awareness. Our yoga teachers are trained in trauma-informed or trauma-sensitive yoga.
